Snapseed

18:17:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I am a big lover of iPhone Apps, especially ones that I find really useful.

So I decided it would be useful to do some 'app reviews' for my youtube channel.

This first review is on a photography/ photo editing app called Snapseed.

This is an app I've had for some time, however they have recently updated it & changed the whole layout. They have also added a lot of new features too!

I have also liked this app & feel that they have made it even better with some of the new features!
I like using it the most for editing car/ automotive photos.

Tresemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Tonic

13:38:00 Unknown 1 Comments

This is one of only a few things I got from Glossybox which I had actually heard of. It actually worked out quite well as I had planned on buying this anyway!

This is the Tresemme Renewal Hair & Scalp Tonic.

Firstly the packaging of this product is great for applying the product as it allows you to get really close to the roots and between your hair. However the cap on mine is broken so it leaks, restricting the way I can store it.

The product itself smells amazing like all Tresemme products do!
They do also have a shampoo & conditioner as part of this range to go along side this product, but I haven't tried them. They're probably great for people with really dry scalps.

I wouldn't say I have a dry scalp but it does get a little itchy sometimes. So that's when I tend to use this product (I'd say approx. every other week). When I use this product I love it, it's so refreshing as it contains tea tree extract. I like to massage it into my scalp as well and it feels great. I feel like this tonic does help nourish my scalp when it is a bit itchy or ever dry. I also really like the process of using this product!

This product retails for £5.50,
which I feel is definitely worth it if you have a need for this product!

Ikea Candle: The Orange One

13:12:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I don't know about you guys but I love candles, especially ones that smell amazing.
However I'm not one to spend all my money on them!

So I wanted to talk about an absolute bargain of a candle.

This is one of Ikea's candles, which retail for only £2.50.

This one is an orange scented one and oh my god, it is gorgeous!
Such a fresh & lovely scent which I think is suitable for being burnt at any time of year.

This candle is called Sinnlig and they come in a variety of scents and burn for up to 40 hours.

These candles are great if you like to bulk buy. They do kick of some smell but aren't too overpowering, which I think is just perfect. I don't like candles that are too strong.

Which candle scents are your favourite?

The little open tub!

15:03:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I have another quick tip for you guys!

Today we're talking product expiry dates. They don't always make them very clear and no they're not the same as on food!

The secret is all about the little open tub icon on the back of products!

Monu Facial Treatment Oil

12:19:00 Unknown 1 Comments

My last skincare post was about oils and we're sticking with that theme!

Today we're talking about the Monu Firming Fiji Facial Treatment Oil.
(Is the name long enough?!)

This is only a sample size but really that's all you need as facial oils should be used sparingly.
I received this product in a Glossybox a while ago and hadn't heard of the brand Monu before. After trying this product a few times I have to say it's not quite for me.
I think it is best suited to dry skin and older skin possibly, as it claims to have firming properties.
I can't support them claims as I'm sure you'd have to use this at least 3 times a week to see results, which I don't think my skin could handle.

I would also like to mention that people with nut allergies cannot use this product!
Although if you smell this product you can smell the nut in it so it's quite obvious. Whilst I'm on the smell, I hate it. It's a combination of nuts & clinical cleaning products (weird I know).

So overall not a great review but for you dry skin folk looking for a firming facial oil, this could be for you.

Make Up Rev Lip Lacquers

13:57:00 Unknown 1 Comments

Lip lacquers seem to be the 'it' product of the moment. Every brand is making their own version so I thought it was about it I gave some a try.

These are Make Up Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquers.
I decided to only pick up three because if I don't like them I haven't lost much.

Here are swatches of the three lip lacquers:

Bag loving: Make Up Bag

13:13:00 Unknown 0 Comments

As a woman I love bags! Hence the name of this blog post!
So today we're going to kickstart this series with a make up bag.

This is a set of three make up bags by Soap & Glory.
I've had these for over a year so I'm not 100% sure they still make them, but I'm sure if you google them you can pick them up somewhere.

The three bags you get variety in size. The smallest isn't pictured here, but is roughly the size of a coin purse. The use this one for smaller things like hairbands & bobby pins.
The second bag is the pink one depicted inside the largest bag this is ideal for make up brushes.

Lastly there is the largest bag which is transparent, which means it doubles up at the airport in your hand luggage (ps. it holds about three times more than those bloody sandwich bags you have to use at the airport). This bag is my favourite of the three, it's mostly clear plastic as well so it's easy to clean. It must also be pretty good at protecting your products as I've never had any break when travelling with this bag.

I love Soap & Glory's face & body products and their make up bags are no different.
So here's to my most loved make up bag & will be for years to come I'm sure!

Sunday Skin Secrets #3

13:44:00 Unknown 0 Comments

It's time for another Sunday skin secrets post!
The topic for today is cleansing oils.
If you don't know cleansing oils are an oil that you use to clean your skin & remove your make up.

Firstly it sounds a little crazy doesn't it, but it's actually a really effective way to cleanse your skin.
They tend to clean deeper into the skin than face wipes and they also contain vitamins which help nourish your skin. They obviously also prevent your cleanser from drying out of your skin!

Don't think that if you have oily skin you can't use cleansing oils, they actually could help.
Applying oils to oily skin tricks the skin into thinking it's too oily & in turn it produces less oil.

Cleansing oils are also similar to cleansing balms.
If you're looking to try one a lot of them are quite expensive, however I did spot this one at the drugstore.

This is the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil.
This retails for £7.99, but I found it on offer for only £5.33!

I like using this when I have a lot of make up on. I do also like to use an extra product to remove eye make up as I don't like rubbing oil into my eyes too much. It's perfectly fine, does work and doesn't sting, it just personally isn't my preference due to my blepharitis.

It feels really nice on the skin. This particular product does have quite a strong smell even once you've washed it off. So if you don't like scented skincare you probably will find this a bit much.

This product does work really well and makes my skin feel super soft after I've used it.

So if you are looking to get into cleansing oils but don't fancy spending a fortune, give this one a go!

Get inspired!

18:07:00 Unknown 0 Comments

We all have things that inspire us & that inspire us in particular directions.
However we do also have those moments where we need a little extra inspiration!

This post is targeted more for inspiration within the fashion world, whether you're a fashion photographer, blogger, designer or anything else.

So here are some of my favourite ways to get inspired.
Firstly books, books can supply you with visible images which can be great and information that can aid your knowledge of whatever your focused subject is. Some of my favourites are these below.
125 is all photographs so perfect for photography based inspiration & Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty is perfect for a designer as it contains stunning images of his collection pieces.

Another way I like to get inspired is by looking on websites such as Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest etc.
For outfit ideas youtube videos are great too!
There's such an unlimited amount of content on the internet these days it's hard not to be inspired by some of it. If you're looking for something in particular you can really specify your searches on most website too.

Just a little note I'd like to add though, there is a BIG difference between getting inspired & copying someone's work. Take ideas from others and put your own style/ twist on it because copying isn't cool!

Let's Get Healthy #5

12:00:00 Unknown 0 Comments

So these blog posts have been strictly blog exclusive, however this post has a video to go along with it.
You can read this & watch the video (which I advise) but it's honestly up to you.

So first of all an update on my Gluten Free diet.
This diet has really changed everything for me. I feel a million times better for cutting out gluten!
When I started the diet I was struggling to fill myself up, however my mind is starting to learn what being full really is (and it's not being bloated).

I also feel like I have so much more energy on this diet.
Which leads me nicely onto my next point..

Getting a bit fitter!
I haven't been exercising too much (slaps wrist), so that is now my main focus.

I already think my immune system is getting stronger due to the diet and I think exercise will just help further.

I have also booked a holiday.. so I want that Ibiza body!

Dove Youthful Vitality

16:01:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I bet you're wondering why I'm reviewing a product for ageing hair, well I received these in a Glossybox and thought I might as well make the most of them.

So these are the new Dove Youthful Vitality (for ageing hair) Shampoo & Conditioner.

I don't really use Dove, they're just not a brand that appeals to me although I feel the packaging for these is a lot nicer than their standard packaging.

The products smell nice and fruity which I like from haircare products. They also apply nicely to your hair, they aren't too runny or too solid.
However after using these products I feel like my hair just holds onto water like there's no tomorrow.
Obviously these products are aimed at old & dry hair.
Which really isn't my hair type at all!

So for me they just over hydrated my hair and weighed it down, but this does tell me that these products are super hydrating & nourishing!
So if you do have dry hair (unlike me) you'll probably love these products and feel they really help your dryness.
So the more mature lady with dry hair, these products are for you!

So although a negative review from me there are positives to these products, it just depends on your hair needs!

Awesome eyeshadows?

16:54:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I hauled this product back in December & have had quite a few questions about it.
So to me that calls for a review video!

This is the Make Up Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection.

So this is an eye shadow palette combining neutral and colourful eye shadows.
There are 100 eye shadows in the palette & the palette costs only £12!

The colour variety in this palette is great. They also vary in finish which is good.
Although this does result in a differ in pigmentation. The matte shadows aren't as pigmented as the others. I think this is generally the case with more cheap eye shadows though.

Below are some swatches of a few shades out of the palette. You can see the differ in pigmentation here. I would also like to note these swatches aren't from just one swipe, more like three/ four.

Restaurant review #1

15:45:00 Unknown 0 Comments

For my first restaurant review I wanted to keep it quite simple and go with good old Nandos!
I say this because me & boyfriend go to Nandos sometimes as often as once a week, bad I know. Haha.

So firstly the things you need to know, it's basically chicken & chips, but a lot more tasty.
However if you don't like chicken, Nandos definitely isn't for you.
One of the things that I kind of like about Nandos is that you go up & order your food yourself. I like this in some restaurants simply because it saves having staff interrupt you all the time.

So onto the food. Me & my boyfriend always get a share platter, which consists of a whole chicken (four pieces), a large portion of chips & refillable soft drinks. I don't have the peri salt on my chips because it could contain gluten.
We also sometimes get garlic bread, which isn't gluten free but I can have the odd bit now & again.

I love their garlic bread. However it can come a bit burnt sometimes, I feel like it differs depending which Nandos branch you go to.

I can't handle spice at all, however even I can manage the 'Medium' heat at Nandos. So don't be too put off if you aren't great with spice. I also find the chicken is cooked well, I've never had any which was under cooked. The coating is really nice and the chips they serve are decent too (I'm quite fussy about what chips I like).

You do have to get your own cutlery which I find a bit annoying.
Basically Nandos is a more casual restaurant which is ideal for if you want to go for a quick lunch & a chat.
I also think it's pretty good value for money, costing roughly £10 per head.

Shoe Refresh!

Sometimes shoes get dirty, it's unavoidable!
I recently discovered a tip that will allow you to quickly & easily clean all sorts of shoes.

This tip works really well with suede/ canvas shoes.
However it can also work for plastic/ rubber shoes too, it also depends on the type of application you use.

Me Me Me - review!

19:32:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Hi guys! The product I'll be reviewing today on my blog is this:

It's Me Me Me's Eye Line pencil in Clay.
I actually got this product in a Glossybox a while ago, I don't think Me Me Me is a very readily available brand in the UK. Not to my knowledge anyway.

Firstly I think the packaging looks really nice for a pencil eyeliner, the matte finish makes it feel & look at my more high end to me.

The product itself is one of those pencils that you have to sharpen which I find a bit of a pain, because let's face it whenever you need a sharpener you can never find one! Am I right?
But never the less I do like the product so I can live with that.

The reason I like the product is that it's a nice soft pencil, the formula actually has some different oils in it which I think helps. It glides on the eyes nicely, instead of tugging (which I hate, as I have very sensitive eyes). This eyeliner also doesn't sting my eyes when I use in on my waterline, which I've experienced in the past with other eyeliners. So to me this is quite a little winner really!

Above is a little swatch of the eyeliner so you can see the colour.
It can also be smudged out very easily due to its soft texture.

This eyeliner also retails for only £4!
What a bargain!

Day Diary: Tuesday 7th April 2015

20:14:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Seeing as it has been Easter weekend I have been very busy working.
So I wanted to have a nice chilled day with my boyfriend Reece. In essence a 'date day'.

So we firstly when shopping in Birmingham at the Bullring.
I had a few things I needed/ wanted to get, so it was more shopping for me really.

I firstly decided to have a look in the new River Island flagship store, which they've done an amazing job with! I would also like to mention they've got some amazing bikinis in their summer Pacha collection. I will definitely be picking some up soon!
I needed some things from Topshop, i.e. leggings & jeans. Topshop is my favourite for both of these items. I also popped into Victoria's Secret.
Below is a photo of some of the stuff I got.

I also decided to splurge & get myself an iPhone 6 due to the amount of problems I've been having with my 5S.

I also came home to find two parcels had arrived, one from Superdrug & one from Teapigs.
I have been having some problems with my tea so they had sent me some replacement tea.

My Superdrug order consisted of all the beauty items in the photo above.
How cute are the Real Techniques make up brushes! They are amazingly soft too!

Then after seeing to my horse, me & Reece decided to go out for dinner & then to the cinema.
Here is my outfit for the evening:

We went to TGI Friday's, which has to be one of my favourite restaurants. I love the cocktails there and the food is amazing. We both really enjoyed our meals, we both had burgers (so fancy.. not, haha).
Then we went to the cinema to see the new Fast & Furious film, number 7.
It was a great film. Definitely worth seeing!
I did cry at the end though, it was the perfect send off for Paul Walker (RIP).

Overall it was a lovely day/ evening.

New in: My Make Up Bag #2

12:49:00 Unknown 1 Comments

I'm back with another New in: My Make Up Bag!

Some of these products are new purchases that I'm loving whilst one is an old favourite!

Firstly I'm going to talk about the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer.
There has been a ridiculous amount of hype around this product from everyone I watch on youtube, so I caved and purchased it.
I had put off buying this concealer for so long as I was convinced that there wasn't a shade light enough for my skin.
However I decided to give it a go anyway & compared it with my Dream Lumi concealer & the shade was the same and I can use that. So I figured it would work. I picked up the Light shade in case you were wondering, as that was the lightest shade.

I actually quite like this product, the applicator although not very hygienic makes application very easy. Be careful though, as a little goes a long way with this product.
That said though the coverage isn't as thick as I'd like. I get more coverage from my MAC Pro Longwear.

Next I'm going to go onto the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara.
I got this at Christmas in a Soap & Glory gift set,  although I have had this mascara before.
The wand is quite big, which I like for volume. However this mascara isn't great for curling but I just curl my lashes before application.

Lastly there's the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 'Pink In The Afternoon', which is a good old favourite of mine. I love this natural pink shade. I think it really suits me & doesn't clash with my hair, which is great. I love the formulation of these lipsticks as they are really nice and moisturising too.

Let me know below what's new in your make up bag!

love Eve xx
