FOTD #1

13:49:00 Unknown 0 Comments

FOTD = Face Of The Day.

This has kind of been my 'go to' make up look for the past month.
So let's get onto the products I used.

L'oreal Skin Perfection
This is a weird product which I bought by accident (I'll spare you the details) but it turned out to be quite a little gem. It's a blurring primer which decreases the appearance of visible pores & overall just makes your skin look a lot better.

L'oreal True Match Foundation
This is my holy grail foundation! I just love it so of course I'd be using it. The shade I'm currently using is N1.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Another favourite base product of mine, this concealer is a little highlighting and has great coverage. It also isn't too thick which I like. It also really is long wearing.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil
I haven't really been about that polished brow look this month, I've been ill & feeling pretty lazy so a brow pencil is ideal. I love using powders but they are a little fussy at times. This is great as it has a brush on one end & the pencil on the other (a bit like the brow wiz).

Benefit High Beam
I feel like I fall in love with this product every summer. I love how this highlighter looks on my skin and I've been preferring highlighting over contouring recently.
Check out this new trend, it's called strobing.

Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette
This palette is a great on the go, quick to grab & use palette. Like I said before I've been a bit lazy this month so this has been ideal. It's also a great size to throw in your purse.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara
This mascara is perfect for sensitive eyes & that is the exact reason it's been my go to mascara this month. When I'm ill but need to wear mascara this is the one I go for.

Barry M Contour Kit
I've been loving this kit since I got it, the colours are great & it's a bargain.

MUA Blush
This product I've had for ages & I rediscovered it this month. It's actually a really nice blush for £2.50! It can get a little shimmery though if you use too much, so don't be too heavy handed. This blush is in the shade English Rose.

Make Up Revolution Lipstick
For a cheap lipstick you really can't complain at this product. It's actually quite moisturising and comfortable to wear. The shade I've been using is 'When You Came To Me'. Which is a nice browny nude.

Stretch Mark Solutions

17:48:00 Unknown 1 Comments

I'm convinced everyone gets stretch marks, or will do at some point in their life.
If you don't you're extremely lucky!

They are a nightmare to get rid of, that's for sure.
I have tried numerous different products that claim to firm skin and reduce the appearance of stretch marks & 90% of them don't do a lot.

So I want to save you guys wasting your money on rubbish products. The product I always recommend & pretty much swear by is Bio Oil.

It is probably the most popular & well known brand for dealing with stretch marks & there is a very good reason for that!
I'm not saying this is a miracle product, it doesn't work in a day or a week. You have to be committed and use this at least twice a day for as long as you need to really. You should start to see a difference in about a month or two.

I have also started using this again for some redness on my face & it's the only thing that seems to help that too!

I know it's not the cheapest product however a little goes a long way, so chances are you only need to buy the smallest size bottle.

Fragrance Lovin #2

11:18:00 Unknown 0 Comments

It's time again for a bit of fragrance loving!

My first post like this was about one of my 'go to' fragrances & this one is very much the same!
I'd have to say this is my most worn fragrance of all time. I use it all the time & am forever repurchasing it.

The fragrance I'm talking about is the Giorgio Armani Diamonds eau de perfum.

Seriously what can I say about this fragrance?! It's just amazing, it's perfect to me.
It's notes include rose with a touch of litchi & raspberry, how beautiful does that sound!

One of the reasons I love this fragrance (as well as the smell, of course) is that can easily be a day or night fragrance. It's not too heavy but still lasts on the skin. It also isn't too sickly sweet or 'old lady' floral, the notes explain that. I feel like it's a very balanced fragrance.

It's ideal for someone around my age (21) as it's a great move towards adult fragrance as it's floral but still a bit sweet. Younger women tend to prefer sweeter scents and move more towards florals as they get older. However if you are an older woman don't let that put you off either, it's still a very universal fragrance.
I would recommend it to anyone, as I love it that much!

Sorry, not sorry for all the loving here!

Blog Haul #1

09:50:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Why should hauls just be a youtube thing? So I'm bringing them to the blog!

So my first is a little haul from a company called Crazy Factory.
They sell things including piercing jewellery, false lashes, flash tattoos etc.

So onto what I picked up. Firstly I got some rose gold nose jewellery, a ring & a C stud. I was really interested in these as I've being whether if anyone does rose gold piercing jewellery for a while but never found any before.
The sizes do come up quite small I think, but that could be me getting the measurements wrong as I haven't order piercing jewellery in a while. However they do both fit.

The stud has a silver gem in it, which I would have preferred it without but oh well.

Then I also got a sheet of flash tattoos, just simply to experiment with as there has been so much hype around this recently (thank you festival season). They had a few different one but I decided to go with this somewhat tribal themed sheet.
I haven't tested these out yet, but I might do a blog post on them once I have.

No Fade Red

18:34:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Some of the questions I get asked all the time are "what hair dye do you use?" & "How do you stop your red hair fading?"

I have answered these in a video so if you'd prefer to watch that click here!

So firstly the hair dye I use is The Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL in Real Red (35).
This is the only red I have ever used on my hair, however I do have some colour build-up as I have been dying it red for approximately 4/5 years.

This leads me onto the fading part. My hair doesn't really fade now as I have been dying it that same colour for so long. When I first dyed it, it did used to fade quite a bit especially on the ends.
Another thing that I found helped is using shampoos & conditioners that are targeted for dyed hair, even better for red hair.

Firstly I used a Toni & Guy red haircare range, however that had some glitter in it which I wasn't a fan of. Then for a long time I used Tresemme's Colour Fade Protection range (which I still sometimes use) & now I generally use John Frieda's Radiant Red range. All of which I would recommend to prevent fading. If you're looking more to add a bit of vibrance & colour I would go for the John Frieda.

Go To Lip Look

10:51:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I have become a little bit addicted to a lip combo!
I just always go to this combo at the moment, it's great. It goes with pretty much any make up look.

The combo includes MAC's Lip liner in Dervish, topped with Benefit's Sugarbomb Lipgloss.

This lip colour is just perfect for my skintone. I find that nudes with a bit of pink in them suit my pale skin better than more brown nudes. I find browner nude more aging, which isn't a good look.

Another good thing about this combo is that by using a lip liner it means the look is going to last longer, even if the lip gloss comes off. However I have a mini size of the lip gloss which I take around in my purse for touch ups.

If you follow me on Instagram (username: evebickley) you'll see that I'm wearing this lip combo in all of my recent selfies.

Living with Blepharitis

20:11:00 Unknown 0 Comments

You guys might not know but I suffer from an eye condition called Blepharitis.
I have been suffering for about a year & wanted to give you guys a little update.

More so to enlighten you all of this condition, as you could be suffering but not even know!

Blepharitis is where the eyelids become inflamed (red & swollen).
It is most common in people over 40 however anyone can depend it at any time.

The symptoms include: itchy eyes, eyelashs becoming crusty & eyelids sticking together.

To get diagnosed I would advise going to an optician or optometrist. If you go to your local hospital or GP they should be able to tell you where your nearest eye specialist clinic is.

How I keep my Blepharitis under control is by following this cleaning routine.
1. Doing a hot compress using an eye bag.
2. Using preservative free Blepharitis targeted eye wipes (or lotion), the brand I use is called Blephaclean.
3. Using Celluvisc eye drops to lubricate my eyes.

I repeat this morning & night.
The key this be strict with this routine.

If any of you guys think you might be suffering & have any question please comment or on the video below.

Simply Rose Gold

15:49:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Jewellery isn't something I talk about much here, not because I don't like it but because I've very fussy about my jewellery.

I'm not a fan of cheap jewellery that goes green, as I'm the sort of person who only wears certain pieces but wears them permanently. So really I look for staple jewellery which will go with everything & matches the jewellery I already have.

So onto my favourite pieces!
Firstly there is my Michael Kors watch which I have had for years, which is a rose gold one.
I know every woman & her dog has one now but surely that just makes me trend setter (haha).

I had been looking for a few nice rings for years but when I got this watch rose gold wasn't such a big thing. However recently Thomas Sabo have been stocking some gorgeous rose gold rings! As well as other pieces (necklaces, bracelets, earrings etc).

The ring in the photo is from Thomas Sabo which I wear all the time, I don't even take it off to shower!

These pieces are also amazing quality they don't fade or change colour!
I would recommend them to anyone. So if you're on the hunt for some special jewellery definitely check these brands out.
Michael Kors now do rose gold bracelets, rings etc too!

Current Essentials #1

15:52:00 Unknown 0 Comments

We all have essentials that we can't live without!
However these can sometimes change, so I wanted to show you guys some of my current essentials.

Nikon D7100
This is my favourite camera I own. Firstly look at it! It's beautiful (sorry I'm a nerd).
It is also the camera I use for any photo shoots I do & to film my youtube videos. So I don't know what I'd do without this camera! It's literally like a limb to me, I use it daily.
This isn't just a current essential, this is a permanent essential! Love it!

Michael Kors Watch
I couldn't tell you which watch this is (Do they even have names?) but I've had it for about 3 years & it's still perfect. It has the odd little scratch however it is practically perfect! I wear it constantly because it's beautiful as well as practical. It also has the date on the face too, which I need because otherwise I'd have no idea what day it is.

GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition
Yes another camera. This camera is completely different though. I plan on doing more vlogging for my youtube channel so I have been loving using my GoPro. The quality of GoPro cameras is amazing. Would definitely recommend them, however there are still some accessories I need to get for it!

Peppersmith Lemon Mints
I got sent these mints to try & I love them! The lemon ones are the best, they're so yummy. They're also really good for your teeth as they can prevent decay! I do have a separate blog post on these, so if you'd like to read more on them & how they work click here.

Benefit Sugarbomb Lipgloss & MAC Dervish Lip Liner
This is basically my 'go to' nude lip look, which I will have a separate blog post on soon!

Intimate Moments

16:33:00 Unknown 1 Comments

For those of you who didn't know (i.e. have been living under a rock) we can now get Victoria's Secret products in the UK.
The nearest shop to me is the one in the Bullring in Birmingham, which is the newest shop I think.

Since I have been shopping there I can conclude they are the best place for all things lingerie!

This bra is a perfect example. The lace detailing is of great quality and the cobalt blue still shows through. This bra clips at the front, which is a neat little feature as it allows the back (which you can somewhat see in the photo) to be lacy and beautiful. I love this idea as it means the 'no bra with backless tops thing' is a thing of the past.
I prefer the structured padding in these bras too, it prevents them from becoming misshaped over time.

Overall they make some really cool, sexy & creative stuff.
This includes their range of bikinis too!

However in the UK Victoria's Secret isn't cheap, so pick wisely!

Royal Apothic Tinties

17:49:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Royal Apothic wasn't a brand I'd ever heard of until I got this product. Again it came in a Glossybox, a good while ago now!
However I have so many lip balms I've only just got round to using it.

Firstly I'd like to say, how cute is the packaging, I love it!
The rose gold lid is just amazing, I wish all packaging was that pretty.
As for the product firstly I love the smell, it has a lovely sweet vanilla scent which I actually like smelling on my lips. However if you lick your lips a lot it sadly doesn't taste quite as nice (I obviously advise not to 'eat' your lip balm anyway, haha).

The colour is labelled as Coral which it doesn't look in the tub, however due to it's pigmentation it does apply to look like a coral colour. The colour is quite build-able so you can tailor it to your taste. This is a great alternative to wearing a lipstick/ lip gloss.

Despite being called a 'Lip Butter' it's not that buttery when you apply it on the lips, it requires a little work to rub it in, I've found patting it in works better. It is somewhat moisturising however not quite as much as I was expecting. It is very comfortable to wear though.

So I'd say this is cute product that's more of a lipstick alternative than lip balm. It would make a perfect gift though!

How I take Instagram photos

16:44:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Creating cool Instagram photos is a blogger must these days.
A lot of Instagram follows are based of how your Instagram feed looks.

So hows a little insight into how I take my Instagram photos to make sure they're of great quality & style.

I like my Instagram feed to look clean & stylish.
I find the best way to get this look is by using light backgrounds like light wood flooring or a white table top. Darker backgrounds prevent the subjects colours from standing out as much.

Usually, in the summer time at least, natural light will be good enough lighting. However I do sometimes use some artificial LED lighting. I either use this LED top light as pictured above or a ring light. I actually prefer using a ring light as you can shoot through the gap instead of having to shoot around it.

I usually just take my Instagram photos on my iPhone 6 as I feel the camera quality is pretty damn good (for a phone anyway) & it also saves me having to transfer photos from my camera/ laptop. So I can post them straight away.

I like to lay my photos out a few different ways to make them look visibly interesting, subconsciously  using my photography skills of composition.

I do also try to somewhat plan my posts so there aren't too many posts that look the same with the same content. That way your followers don't get bored of your posts & unfollow.

Happy Instagraming!

New In My Make Up #3

21:57:00 Unknown 0 Comments

It's time for another instalment of what's new in my make up bag!

I've been trying not to buy too much new make up, so a lot of these things are products I've owned for a while.
So onto the products...

Benefit Brow-Zing
I love this product & have done since I've had it, however I had been using other products for some time. So I have somewhat rediscovered this. It's a brow kit which contains a powder, wax, brushes & tweezers. Mine is in the colour Medium, so yes they have a selection of colours. The powder is my favourite part of this product, however as waxes go I do actually like the one in this kit.

ELF Eyelash Curlers
I never used to use eyelash curlers however I've noticed my eyelash aren't quite in as good condition as they used to be. I can only imagine this is due to the numerous eye problems I have been suffering with over the last year. So I find these days I need to curl them, especially when using certain mascaras.

Benefit Sugarbomb Lipgloss
Again a product I've had for a while, but this I've never truly loved, until now! I recently got MAC's Lip Liner is Dervish. I love layering the Sugarbomb lipgloss over top. It's just the perfect glossy nude lip. LOVE!

L'Oreal Infallible 24Hour Matte Foundation
I have a full video review on this foundation. I love the L'Oreal True Match & thought this would be a great one to try when it first launched. And you know what.. I was right! I love this foundation. As we are now in summer I'm finding that I sometimes get a little greasy in my True Match foundation, so this is a great alternative.

One Heck of a Blot!

11:21:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Soap & Glory are brand that I love in generally.
They're body care range is just amazing, however I only have a few things from their make up range.

One of these things is their 'One Heck of a Blot' blotting powder.

I purchased this because their were quite a few beauty vloggers raving about it.

However after using it for quite a few months I don't think its that great, sadly. I think it does a decent  job when you apply it, however I feel like it doesn't keep my matte for very long.
If you're happy to & have the time to re-apply throughout the day then you'll probably get on just fine with this product.

I do like that it's a translucent powder though, as being pale makes it hard to find making coloured powders.

As you can see I ave hit pan on this powder so it can't be that bad, however I don't think I'll be in a rush to repurchase this product.
Especially for the price!

If you have any recommendation please comment below.

The Testing Tray #1

10:52:00 Unknown 1 Comments

As a blogger that covers beauty products I decided to start a segment on here to give you guys a bit of a sneak peak of what products are in my 'testing tray'.

It doesn't necessarily mean there will be a review on all of these products, but if you guys comment below with any of them you would like to see a review on that would be ideal.

So here's what is currently in the tray:

1. Benefit Stay Flawless 24 Hour Primer.
This product is only a sample size which I got in my Benefit advent calendar but I haven't really tried it yet, so therefore it's on the testing list.

2. Schwarzkopf Got2Be All Star 10 in 1 Styling Treatment.
I received this product in a Glossybox a while ago and it claims to do a lot of things like adding shine, texture, reduces frizz, the list goes on. Hence the name '10 in 1', so I want to see if it really is a 10 in 1 treatment.

3. Younique Fiber Lash.
This product was sent to me by a Younique representative so I am inclined to review it, however it's something I've been interested in for while anyway, as I have noticed that my lashes don't seem to be as long as they used to be.

4. Superdrug De-Stressing Mud Mask.
I needed a new mask & just happened to be in Superdrug so I thought I'd pick this up & give it a go. Superdrug do a few different mud masks so I might try a few and do a batch review.

5. Make Up Revolution Vivid Baked Blush.
I got this blush about a month ago but haven't really used it much. So I thought I needed to give it a chance to see if it's any good. It looks very similar the Milani baked blushes that everyone raves about.

6. MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara.
I got sent this by MAC, now you may be wondering how?!? MAC do this really cool thing on their Facebook page where you put in your details & they send you a sample. But it's on a first come basis, so keep an eye on their social media! So I'm dying to test this out to see what a MAC mascara is like, as I've never tried one.

Love Eve xx

In association with Younique.

SS Beauty Wish List!

14:28:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I still have a massive addiction to beauty products & there are SO many things I want to try!
So here is my wish list of some of things I'm dying to try this summer.

1. Magnitone Lucid Cleansing Brush
I've being wanting one of these cleansing brushes for years now and these ones by Magnitone are great value for money & have some really great reviews too. I have some issues with my pores and these purify pores & exfoliate your skin for clearer, softer & brighter skin. That sounds pretty good to me!

2. MAC Lip Liner in Whirl
The hardest lip liner in the world to get your hands on! I only really want this because it's a neutral/nude lip liner by MAC & I love neutral/ nude MAC lip liners! Sorry Kylie.

3. Sigma 'Sigmax' Brushes
I already own some Sigma brushes & I think they're great. This set looks great for doing your base make up (foundation, concealer, setting powder etc). They are great quality brushes the only problem is I'm not sure how readily available this set is in the UK.

4. Bondi Sands Tanning Mist
I'm not one for fake tan much, it's like a special occasion thing for me. However I've heard nothing but good things about this make of fake tan. I would prefer to try the spray version as I find lotion tans a bit more time consuming.

5. Co Lab Dry Shampoo
This like most of these products I want to try has really good reviews, hence why I want to try it. I love dry shampoo but hate ones that leave a white-cast in your hair & I've heard that this one doesn't. So if that's true this could be a real win product!

6. NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette
This is another product I'm not 100% sure is that available in the UK, however that doesn't stop me wanting it! The main reason I want this product is because it actually is a contour palette will pale shades in it! As someone who is ridiculously pale I struggle to buy contour palettes so I would love to try this one as they have highlight shades which are pretty much white, ideal!

What are you guys wishing for this summer?
(Other than nice weather!)

Love Eve xx
