Admitting you have Anxiety!

10:17:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I've always told myself that I don't have anxiety & am fine. However it wasn't until recently that I started reading into what anxiety actually is!

It's actually a really complicated mental illness (yes that taboo word)! There's a variety of symptoms involved & anxiety can be linked to other illnesses such as OCD.

I think everyone has some anxiety to some degree or has a trigger which can make them feel anxious. However some people can cope with this better than others & can keep it at a healthy level.

I recently have not been able to do this!
Throughout school I had always struggled with presentations, becoming visibly shakey & sweaty. Since leaving school I haven't really found this anxiety to be an issue as my job doesn't require me to do that sort of thing.

However if a confrontational situation is ahead of me these symptoms come raging back, as well as an extremely raised heart rate. As someone who is self-employed the book stops at you so if someone's not happy you can find yourself in very hostile situations. I obviously try to avoid these by doing my upmost to delivery the best service I can!
Sadly though you can't please everyone!

Onto the other things that have led me to my GP to discuss anxiety, are the stresses I'm currently dealing with regarding my health. I am sure this is the reason that my anxiety level has spiralled out of control!
I'm constantly ill, struggling with an unknown allergy which never relents! It is at the point now where I'm so fed up with it I could cry at any point (another anxiety symptom is lack of emotional control). As well as this I'm very forgetful, stressed easily over nothing & feel completely underwhelmed by everything. I find this so frustating as I have so much to live for, but my mind just won't let me enjoy it.

If you think your suffering like me I would advise going to see your doctor. I have a really good doctor dealing with my allergy case & now my anxiety. This meant he believed me without question & wanted to help me instantly. If a doctor doesn't take you seriously see another, & if they don't another! It's so important to talk to people about this sort of thing.

I'd been in denial for so long, but now I've admitted it I feel like I can start changing things for the better.

Hotel Review - El Pinar

18:36:00 Unknown 0 Comments

As I'm on holiday I thought I'd do a hotel review. Now I haven't done one of these before on my blog, but I am always posting reviews on Trip Advisor!
(I love that website too much!)

The hotel that I'm currently staying is El Pinar in Cala Llonga, Ibiza.
We've been staying here for the last three years, so I think I'm more than qualified to do a review on the place.

Firstly the location is beautiful, right around the bay of Cala Llonga. You can literally step out of the hotel & onto the beach, so if you love the beach you'll love it! The bar & restaurant also overlook the beach/ sea, as do a large percentage of the rooms.

Onto the rooms, they have two separate blocks, we have stayed in both blocks. Both are very similar however the balconies are better on the front block, which I like. Depending what you like the bar is also in the front block. The rooms are nice, nothing too fancy or too basic.

The staff are very friendly & attentive. The food is relatively good depending what dish you pick. I wouldn't advise doing all inclusive, but that's just my personal choice as me & Reece eat out a lot. Locally there are some really nice restaurants.

Overall I'd give it four stars.

Where's your favourite hotel?

Tail Trimming

10:09:00 Unknown 0 Comments

It's time for another horsey moment here on the blog!

Today's subject: tail trimming.

I love when a horse has a lovely long tail, however there comes a length where it just needs trimming. Otherwise they can get messy & scraggy looking, which is not a good look!

Here is a short video tutorial on here to trim a horses tail.

What's in my Pool Bag

21:53:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I have done 'essential product' based posts in the past, but this one is slightly different.
This one this basically what I keep with me when I'm poolside on holiday.

Magazines/ Books
I don't read much when I'm at home, however it's a great pass time when you're just chilling on a sun lounger catching a tan. I like to read a variety of different things including topic specific magazines, books & ebooks on my iPhone.

Sun Cream
This really is a MUST for me, being so pale. Although it should be for anyone! Sun cream should be applied regularly if you're sitting out in the sun, especially after having a swim. I like to use Nivea sun creams for my body & am currently trialling Benefit's Dream Screen for my face.

Sunglasses
I have to wear sunglasses whenever the sun is out so I wouldn't be able to cope without these bad boys. In case I carry multiple sunglasses with me at any time.

Bottle of Water
This is again an important one! It's essential to drink water to stay hydrated when you're out in the sun. You will be sweating more & losing water quicker than normal, so drink up! If you are drinking alcohol it's still important to have water as alcohol will only aid in dehydration.

Hand Sanitiser
I take these everywhere will me, for so many reasons. Smelly, sticky sun creams, if you're eating or if you just want to refresh your hands it saves you a trip to the toilet.

Lip Balm
The sun drys out your skin in general, including your lips! Cracked, dry lips are not a good look.

iPhone
My hub for music, calm apps & books. Just an essential in life. Sorry not sorry.

Headphones
Linked to my previous item, the only way to listen to music around other people. There's nothing worse than someone playing music out loud, because let's be honest we don't all like the same things!

Let me know what's in your pool bag in the comments below.

Bad Hair Day Solutions

15:11:00 Unknown 0 Comments

We all have 'bad hair days', me especially. My hair is thick & sometimes hard to work with.
So here are some of my go to hair styles on a bad hair day!

Firstly we have the bun!
I usually wear mine as a high messy bun (right image), they're so simple to do! I can do them with just a hairband, however if you do struggle with buns you can buy a hair donut & wrap your hair around that. Simple.
There is also the low bun, this one is a bit more stylish & high fashion at the moment.
It's literally the same principle just doing it at the nape of your neck opposed to the crown of your head. Simple, classy & practical!

Another thing I like to do is wear a hat.
I usually do this if my roots are looking a little greasy, but shh don't tell.

I like to go with either a beanie or a flat cap. These are great if your ends/ lengths are the primary issue. They also somewhat distract from your hair, as well as making a great accessory to go with your outfit.

What are your bad hair day solutions?

Doll White

18:02:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I, like everybody else wants perfectly white teeth.
However I don't fancy sitting in a dentist's chair for numerous hours to achieve this look.

I have tried a few different types/ brands of teeth whitening products in the past & had no luck with them. So when these dropped through my letterbox I was really excited to give them a try.

These are Doll White 7 day teeth whitening treatment strips.

The idea of these is that they work as a seven day treatment plan, where you use one once a day for seven days. They do also offer treatment packs for 14, 28, 42 & 56 days. You pick your pack depending on how discoloured you feel your teeth are.

I personally prefer the idea of the shorter packs & using them prior to any big events I have coming up. Just for that extra burst of whiteness!

Below is a before & after photo.

After using the kit I have to say it does work! After seven days there is definitely a noticeable difference, which I think is great. I personally noticed a bigger difference to my top teeth than my lower teeth, however I think this is due to the difference in the shape of the strips.

The only thing I would say is that next time I would probably go with the 14 days treatment pack, based on my start shade & desired result.

A Summer Wedding

13:27:00 Unknown 0 Comments

With summertime comes wedding season!
Sometimes it's hard to find the perfect outfit as a guest. You have to get the balance right, as you don't  want anything upstaging or too exposing.

So here is my perfect wedding outfit for the summer!

This outfit consists of:
Dress - River Island
Blazer - Boohoo
Bag - River Island
Shoes - Carvela, Kurt Geiger
Watch - Michael Kors
Hair - Bellami Hair

The dress I did have to get take in as the size 6 I ordered was way too baggy in the back.

Detailing Delights

13:21:00 Unknown 0 Comments

It's time for another odd-ball topic here on the blog & youtube channel. But as I've said before I like to cover all of my interests and another one of those in car detailing.

Some of you might be thinking, what even is that?
It's basically cleaning you car to a very high standard, which allows you to keep it cleaner for longer & maintain your paintwork better.

So what I wanted to discuss is what my favourite products are & mini reviews on them!

There are two brands in particular that I like at the moment, these are Meguiar's and Auto Finesse. I have also been getting into using Auto Glym recently too.

So my top products are:
- Meguiar's Gold Class range in general
- Auto Finesse Revived
- Meguiar's PlastRX
- Meguiar's Interior Detailer Cleaner
- Auto Finesse Tripple
- Auto Finesse Crystal

Check out my thoughts here:

Back to School Make Up

14:17:00 Unknown 0 Comments

So the summer holidays are drawing to a close (sorry to anyone going back to school).
However that can sometimes means the pressure to return to school looking fresh.

Firstly don't let the pressure get to you! You do you!

However if you are looking for a fresh, clean & simple make up look for the new term check out this tutorial!

I've tried to pick drugstore products that aren't going to break the bank!
So this look is about using less products to save yourself some pennies.

For the base we'll be using a tinted moisturiser as I don't feel foundation is necessary for school (unless you are suffering with your skin & prefer more coverage).

We're also keeping the eyes simple, using one colour of cream shadow & just mascara.
As with the brows & only using a tinted gel.

I have also put in some optional extras, like the primer, blush & bronzer.

So watch the tutorial here:

I hope you all had a great summer holiday!

Extraordinary Oil!

12:23:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Hair oil, something that at first seems kinda scary but is really a haircare essential!
I have already done a hair oil review on here previously on the Natural World Coconut Water Hair Oil which I love.

This L'Oreal Elvive hair oil is no different!

I love hair oils in general & this one has to be my current favourite! L'Oreal have a few different hair oils in their range, I like to use the one formulated for coloured hair (for obvious reasons).
This hair oil is not only formulated for coloured hair but it also has UV filtered in it to protect your hair from sun damage.
I love this feature as my ends can get pretty dry if I'm out in the sun a lot.

This like most hair oils can be used in a variety of ways, I tend to use it mostly to nourish the ends of my hair. I do this most days, especially on days when I've washed my hair. It works great on dry or damp hair.
It also isn't too greasy, I find this quite a dry oil. It's kind of like the perfect in-between of the two! It's super nourishing but not so greasy that you hate the result.

This does have quite a strong scent to it, however I think it's quite a nice scent. It's a sweet & somewhat fruity scent.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hair oil, it's a drugstore product that doesn't get enough hype in my opinion! It retails for £9.99, however if you shop around you'll likely find it on offer somewhere.
