Blackhead Busting Products

Blackheads, I hate them, you hate them, we all hate them.
They are also a right pain to get rid of too!

So I wanted to talk a bit about some of my favourite products to get rid of blackheads & reduce visible pores.

The first product I like to use & the very first step in my everyday skincare routine is the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating daily scrub. I have been using this product for years & whenever I try to use other scrubs I hate them and just go straight back to this. This suits my skin perfectly.
It's a scrub that's not too harsh but still cleans your face deep down.
This product has micro beads in it to help remove blackheads and remove grease from blocking any pores. This is why I also find it prevents me from getting many spots.

The second product is the Biore Deep Cleasning Pore Strips, when these works (they're a bit hit & miss) they're great. You apply the strips to problem areas with blackheads, leave them for approximately 10 minutes then rip them off quickly. This results in them pulling blackheads clean off your face and the proof is on the strip!

Both of these products are available at the drugstore too!

The last product is the GlamGlow Clearing Treatment mask. I like to use this just on my blackhead areas & spots, as it is an expensive mask. I find this is great for reducing pores and removing blackheads. After I've used this mask my skin just looks brighter, clearer & cleaner!

Boire Strips

I think I can safely say that everyone hates blackheads!
We try all sorts of products to get rid of them but they are notoriously hard to get rid of.

So this leads me onto the Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips.
These are a very talked about product in the beauty world for removing blackheads.

You can buy them as just nose strips or, as picture above, nose & face strips.

Personally I have very mixed feelings on this product. I feel like sometimes they work & sometimes they don't (sound weird I know)!
I think you have to have seriously BAD blackheads for this to work, but equally ones that aren't too embedded into the skin. The more embedded they are the hard it will be for the strip to stick to them.

They work in a very simple way though. You simply wet your skin and stick them on. Leave them for roughly 10 minute & pull them off! You can see if they've worked as you'll see the blackheads stuck to the strip.

The other thing that kind of bothers me about these is that they're aren't that cheap for what they are. They start from £7.99 for just the nose strips, this works out to be £1.33 a strip.

I find that a bit crap when they don't always work!

Anyway if you really struggle with blackheads I would advise giving them a go, but try & catch them on sale.

Sunday Skin Secrets #1

Sunday is one of my favourite days, I don't work on sundays so I get to just chill!
With that comes a little extra time for some skincare treats.

This sunday I will be talking about my favourite face scrub EVER.
I have tried quite a few scrubs & face washes but nothing keeps my skin clear like this product.

The product I'm talking about is the Neutrogena visibly clear Blackhead Eliminating Scrub.

So firstly this product is a drugstore skincare brand, so it's very affordable. It retails for only £3.79!
This range tends to go on offer quite a bit as well (e.g. 2 for £5, 3 for 2, etc).

This scrub is obviously aimed at clearing blackheads but I also feel like it works great for spots/ blemishes. I prefer this to Neutrogena's spot control scrub.

There are micro-beads in the scrub which diffuse as you massage it into the skin. This stops the manual exfoliation of the product from being to harsh. If you have very dry skin though it might still be too harsh. I also use this daily like it states on the label, which shows how gentle the product is.

To be honest I think this has to be a 'holy grail' product for me because no scrub I've used works for my skin like this. That said though everyone's skin is different, so please take that into account.
My skin type is combo/ oily.

Surely at only £3.79 it's worth a try anyway?!

Mask of Magnificent more like

I could have easily done this review back in February when I first purchased this product, to be honest I don't know why I didn't! What I'm trying to say is from the first time I tried this mask I knew I loved it & that it was amazing!

I am of course talking about Lush's Mask of Magnaminty.

The mask is labelled as a face & back pack, however I am not a "backne" (back acne) sufferer!
However for your face this stuff is awesome!
If I'm being really honest I think I prefer this to my GlamGlow in terms of a full face face mask.

The smell isn't the nicest smell ever though, smells kind of like minty vegetables. The mask can also dry out a bit and is best used within a 5 month period.

This mask is definitely worth the £9.75 price tag, in fact I think it's quite the bargain!
I love this mask and definitely plan on repurchasing it once I have finished this pot.

It gets rid of blackheads and makes your skin glow, what more could you ask for!
Also when you wash this mask off it has exfoliants in it, so it exfoliates your skin as you wash it off.

Lush also has a version for you ladies (& guys) that need a bit of extra hydration, with their self-preserving version of this mask!
