Irresistible Me

Who can resist some gorgeous hair extensions?
Not me, clearly (haha)!

As you all probably know by now I love hair extensions, especially clip in extensions.
They are great way to changing & glam up any look/ outfit in a wonderfully temporary way!

I have reviewed a few different types of extensions here & on my youtube channel in the past. In fact they are a very popular topic on my channel. People love an honest review, especially when you're paying a lot of money for hair extensions.

So the extensions I'm going to be reviewing today are by a company called Irresistible Me.
I have heard of this company before, but never purchased from them in the past, so I really didn't know what to expect.

Initially I was very impressed with the packaging that the extensions came in. As you can see below they came in a branded box, with a cute message printed on the inside of the box. They actual extensions are in a sealed plastic package, with a tester weft on the right hand side.

I will say now these are a little redundant for me as I always have to colour match extensions myself (the joys of red hair)! The colour & extensions I have are the Silky Touch 22inch 200g pack in Light Red (#130). These are the closest colour I could get.
To colour match I simply used a box dye a shade darker than what I normally use on my own hair (to compensate for colour build up),

The extensions take dye very well, which is always a great test of whether they are good quality remy human hair. Which these clearly are! There was some initial shredding whilst I was dying them, however since then I have experienced very little.
They also don't get very tangled, which means you won't be damaging them too much when brushing them out.

Above you can see a before & after image of how the extensions look in my hair. Personally I love the way them look. They are single drawn wefts so are a little bit thinner at the ends however I think that makes for a more normal look.

These extensions are also the perfect weight for me! I have very thick hair so I need at least 160g+ really for extensions to blend nicely with my hair. These are 200g, in the photo the only clips I don't have in are the two one clip wefts. I would say this thickness is great & the weight is enough but not too heavy for my head.
I find anymore than 200g to be too heavy to wear for an extended period of time.

The size of wefts you get in this pack is great too!
They come with one 4 clip volume weft, 2x 3 clip wefts, 5x 2 clip wefts & 2x 1 clip wefts.

So overall I really like these extensions! These are definitely going to be my go to extensions for a good while now!

let's Get Festive!

Let's get festive!
Here is my favourite Christmassy eye look for this year.

This is glam enough for any Christmas party or night out but equally as appropriate for Christmas dinner (maybe drop the eyeliner & go for a neutral lip).

My inspiration for this look what a gold/ green shade in my MAC pre-made warm tones eyeshadow palette. The shade is called Unwind. I thought combined with a red lip it would make for a very festive make up look!

Bad Hair Day Solutions

We all have 'bad hair days', me especially. My hair is thick & sometimes hard to work with.
So here are some of my go to hair styles on a bad hair day!

Firstly we have the bun!
I usually wear mine as a high messy bun (right image), they're so simple to do! I can do them with just a hairband, however if you do struggle with buns you can buy a hair donut & wrap your hair around that. Simple.
There is also the low bun, this one is a bit more stylish & high fashion at the moment.
It's literally the same principle just doing it at the nape of your neck opposed to the crown of your head. Simple, classy & practical!

Another thing I like to do is wear a hat.
I usually do this if my roots are looking a little greasy, but shh don't tell.

I like to go with either a beanie or a flat cap. These are great if your ends/ lengths are the primary issue. They also somewhat distract from your hair, as well as making a great accessory to go with your outfit.

What are your bad hair day solutions?

Super Casual Style

I wouldn't say I'm 'fashionable', which is annoying because I'd love to be!
However I find it quite hard putting outfits together that are stylish & comfortable.

Ain't no one got time for uncomfortable clothes!

So here's a look at my super casual attempt at style.

I'd say this is quite an 'urban' & edgy sort of stylish. There's really nothing girly about this look!
If it had been fall I definitely be wearing a dark lip, like MAC Rebel with this.

So onto the clothes I'm wearing:
Top - Boutique brand, I've had this top years. I still love it as I like deep house music & used to love the programme House!
Jacket & Leggings - Topshop
Chain - River Island
Boots & Beanie - Boohoo
Watch - Michael Kors
Nose Ring - Crazy Factory

Toni & Guy Cleanse & Nourish

I've been wanting to try some different haircare for a while now & I luckily got these with a Superdrug order. Win!

These are the Toni & Guy Cleanse & Nourish Shampoo & Conditioner.

I usually stick to 'colour protection' ranges with haircare, however I'd love to find something new!
I have used Toni & Guy shampoos & conditioners before and loved them so that's already a good place to start.

So firstly the shampoo smells quite nice, but a little like an aftershave & the conditioner smells a little like baby powder. Which I'm not a big fan of, however once out of the shower the two smells are pretty nice together.

The shampoo is one that you have to work a little bit to get it to lather & move around the hair. I also feel like it cleanses the hair quite a lot. In the sense of it leaves your hair feeling a little stripped after you've washed out the shampoo. I think it also helped remove a bit of my colour build up.

You then use the nourishing conditioner to add any lost moisture into the hair. The conditioner is a little easier to work through your hair & is super nourishing. I really understand the relationship between the two products, they work great together!

After using both of these my hair feels really soft, with a little less colour build up. I also noticed that it's not as frizzy too, which I love as I do struggle with frizz at the roots!
Another great thing is that it doesn't make my hair greasy either, some shampoo's make my hair greasy after only a day. This one however I managed to go three days before washing again.

Overall I'm loving these products!

Fitting Hair Extensions

This might seem a bit obvious, however everyone does it differently.
That is, how to fit clip in hair extensions.

The extensions I use are the Bellami Hair 22 inch Bellissima set.

I won't try & talk you through how I fit them in this blog post as it'll just be easier for you to watch the video below:

No Fade Red

Some of the questions I get asked all the time are "what hair dye do you use?" & "How do you stop your red hair fading?"

I have answered these in a video so if you'd prefer to watch that click here!

So firstly the hair dye I use is The Schwarzkopf Live Color XXL in Real Red (35).
This is the only red I have ever used on my hair, however I do have some colour build-up as I have been dying it red for approximately 4/5 years.

This leads me onto the fading part. My hair doesn't really fade now as I have been dying it that same colour for so long. When I first dyed it, it did used to fade quite a bit especially on the ends.
Another thing that I found helped is using shampoos & conditioners that are targeted for dyed hair, even better for red hair.

Firstly I used a Toni & Guy red haircare range, however that had some glitter in it which I wasn't a fan of. Then for a long time I used Tresemme's Colour Fade Protection range (which I still sometimes use) & now I generally use John Frieda's Radiant Red range. All of which I would recommend to prevent fading. If you're looking more to add a bit of vibrance & colour I would go for the John Frieda.

Short hair styling!

Nothing beats having a good hair day, am I right ladies?

I curled my hair this day & was having a GREAT hair day!
So this inspired me to film a video on how I curl my hair like this!
Unless you have or have had short hair you won't really understand the struggle it is to curl.

It can be difficult especially when wider curling wands just don't give the result you're look to achieve.

So for the tutorial check out the video below:

Dove Youthful Vitality

I bet you're wondering why I'm reviewing a product for ageing hair, well I received these in a Glossybox and thought I might as well make the most of them.

So these are the new Dove Youthful Vitality (for ageing hair) Shampoo & Conditioner.

I don't really use Dove, they're just not a brand that appeals to me although I feel the packaging for these is a lot nicer than their standard packaging.

The products smell nice and fruity which I like from haircare products. They also apply nicely to your hair, they aren't too runny or too solid.
However after using these products I feel like my hair just holds onto water like there's no tomorrow.
Obviously these products are aimed at old & dry hair.
Which really isn't my hair type at all!

So for me they just over hydrated my hair and weighed it down, but this does tell me that these products are super hydrating & nourishing!
So if you do have dry hair (unlike me) you'll probably love these products and feel they really help your dryness.
So the more mature lady with dry hair, these products are for you!

So although a negative review from me there are positives to these products, it just depends on your hair needs!

Grow Your Hair Healthy!

I had my hair cut short last year. I like it short however I love it long!
So, I'm growing it again.

I know! Just when everyone seems to be cutting it short. Typical!
Oh well.

I'd say I've been growing it since about December. I'm also trying to grow it really healthy!
It wasn't until I had it cut off before that I realised how healthy it had gotten.

So check out the video below for some quick tips on how to grow your hair healthy!

How To: Dye Hair Extensions!

I feel like I haven't done a 'how to' video in a while, and I had some hair extensions that needed dying...

So the result was this video!

It's a very quick tutorial video, but also very handy to know!

Calling all Redheads!

I do already have a haircare video on my youtube channel however it is over a year old now & my haircare routine has changed quite a bit since.

So I thought I'd film an updated one, seeing as pretty much all my FAQ's are hair related!

I talk through the dye I use, colour number and everything! As well as how I keep it looking nice and lush!

Crazy Creepy Clown!

I enjoyed filming my first Halloween make up tutorial so much that I decided to film another!

This one is a crazy/ creepy clown.

Again it's quite an easy simple look, using no latex, etc. Just make up. The look is made up of just face paint and various eyeshadows!

However this look did take me about 50 minutes to complete, so make sure you have plenty of time to spare if you attempt it yourself.

Lets get creepy!

Here is my second Halloween themed instalment!

This make up tutorial is meant to be kind of a 'general purpose' Halloween tutorial. By this I mean it can be adapted and used for a variety of different Halloween characters (devils, zombies, vampires etc).

It's also pretty damn simple!

I do also include a bit of hair fluffing in this video, although my hair naturally loves being a big mess anyway so that was all pretty easy!

Check out the tutorial below:

IBIZA!!!

If you follow me on any social media you'll know that I have been on holiday this past week.
Me and my boyfriend Reece have been to Ibiza.

It was mostly a chilled out holiday, consisting of relaxing by the pool and going out for dinners.

We did have a hire car so were able to go wherever we wanted on the island. Which we pretty much did!

Below is a photo from a beach club in Es Cana.

We also went to my favourite part of the island, which is Ibiza Town, there's just something very charming and lovely about the buildings and shops there.
It's really nice to go just as the sun is setting, below are a few photos overlooking the town.

Although we were staying on the east coast side of the island we did travel to San Antonio a few times and one of which was to spend sunset at Cafe Mambo. It was a lovely evening, but comes with quite the price tag peak season so be warned.

I did try to vlog some of our trip, watch the video here:

OOTD: Nautical Summer

Instalment number two of my OOTDs is here!
Firstly I'd like to apologise for the crap photos, they're screen grabs from the video. As I forgot to take proper photos :(
(slaps wrist)

Anyway, so this ootd is a summer nautical theme which can easily be turned from day to night!

What I'm wearing:
- Shirt: Topshop
- Shorts: Superdry
- Bag: Michael Kors

Now here's the 'day to night' part.. just change up the shoes!

So primarily I'm wearing some casual Nike trainers..

Then I just change them for a pair of heels!

To stick with the nautical theme I thought I'd put on these espadrille wedges from Topshop!
