Flawless Matte

Matte eyeshadows are a staple item in any make up kit, however most palettes tend to have very few or none at all! This is where matte palettes can really come into their own, much like this one by Make Up Revolution.

I have tried a few products by Make Up Revolution before, including eyeshadows & they have been a little hit or miss.

So this palette is their Flawless Matte ultra eyeshadow palette. The palette consists of a mixture of cool & warm tone matte eyeshadows. The first thing I will have to credit them on is the mirror in here, it's great! A decent size & good quality.

So although that is nice, what about the eyeshadows themselves.
I obviously haven't tried every single eyeshadow in here, but having tried quite a few I can say they are again very hit or miss. The more I try drugstore eyeshadow palettes the more I think that you really do get what you pay for with eyeshadows!
There is also no correlation on which shades are good or bad, it's literally a lucky dip.

I find this a real shame as this palette had the potential to be great, but unless your really are on a budget & aren't too fussed about the quality, then I wouldn't recommend this palette. I would say, to get the use & moneys worth I'd save up for a better palette.

Budget Bests

We all love a good bargain don't we.
So here five are of my favourite budget friendly drugstore beauty products on the market.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint
These are possibly my favourite nail polish formula around. They're super cheap at £3.99 & are the perfect way to fake the gel nail look. They also have a huge range of colours from brights to dark & vampy! The formula is pretty good, mine generally don't clip for 3/4 days & start to go a little dull after about 5 days. I would recommend these polishes to any & everyone!

Rimmel Kate Moss Nude Lipsticks
Nude lips are still on trend right now & let's face it they always will be really. These ones from Rimmel are completely matte & have pretty good pay off. For a £7 (approximately) lipstick you really can't complain. I have a few shades from this collection however 45 is my favourite.

Natural World Coconut Water Hair Oil
I really wanted to throw something hair related in this mix, as some hair products can be a bit pricey. Hair oils especially can be quite expensive, however they do generally last a long time! This hair oil firstly, smells incredible. It's worth buying for the scent alone. It is also super moisturising & nourishing for your hair. It is also a non-greasy oil, which is a feature I love!

Make Up Academy Undress Eyeshadow Palette
This one is an oldie but a goodie! I recently rediscovered this palette & now I'm addicted to it all over again. It is designed to be a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked 1 palette, however I don't own the Naked 1 so I can't really compare. However the quality of these eyeshadows is amazing compared to similar priced brands I've tried. This palette is only £4!! What a steal!

Make Up Revolution Contour Palette in Ultra Fair
This is definitely one of the better MUR products I've tried! The colour pay-off the bronzer & highlighter is amazing. I also really like the tone of the all matte bronzer, as it's quite cool toned. The only thing that I'm not a big fan of the blush, due to it's lack of pigment. Overall though for the price (approximately £4) it's definitely a great contouring starter kit.

The Testing Tray #1

As a blogger that covers beauty products I decided to start a segment on here to give you guys a bit of a sneak peak of what products are in my 'testing tray'.

It doesn't necessarily mean there will be a review on all of these products, but if you guys comment below with any of them you would like to see a review on that would be ideal.

So here's what is currently in the tray:

1. Benefit Stay Flawless 24 Hour Primer.
This product is only a sample size which I got in my Benefit advent calendar but I haven't really tried it yet, so therefore it's on the testing list.

2. Schwarzkopf Got2Be All Star 10 in 1 Styling Treatment.
I received this product in a Glossybox a while ago and it claims to do a lot of things like adding shine, texture, reduces frizz, the list goes on. Hence the name '10 in 1', so I want to see if it really is a 10 in 1 treatment.

3. Younique Fiber Lash.
This product was sent to me by a Younique representative so I am inclined to review it, however it's something I've been interested in for while anyway, as I have noticed that my lashes don't seem to be as long as they used to be.

4. Superdrug De-Stressing Mud Mask.
I needed a new mask & just happened to be in Superdrug so I thought I'd pick this up & give it a go. Superdrug do a few different mud masks so I might try a few and do a batch review.

5. Make Up Revolution Vivid Baked Blush.
I got this blush about a month ago but haven't really used it much. So I thought I needed to give it a chance to see if it's any good. It looks very similar the Milani baked blushes that everyone raves about.

6. MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara.
I got sent this by MAC, now you may be wondering how?!? MAC do this really cool thing on their Facebook page where you put in your details & they send you a sample. But it's on a first come basis, so keep an eye on their social media! So I'm dying to test this out to see what a MAC mascara is like, as I've never tried one.

Products I don't reach for

We all do that thing where we buy products randomly & realise they're nothing special.
So I decided it might be helpful to you guys if I showed you some of these products.

Some of them I have reached for on occasions but not massively.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer.
I only have this in one shade and its a bright pink colour. To start with the colour just doesn't work for me. I also find they take forever to dry & with a lip lacquer that's not ideal. I also find the applicator holds far too much product so control is hard & it's not an easy product to remove if you over shoot it. I just feel there are much better lip lacquers out there.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.
Again the colour is so wrong for me, it's too orange. However I also don't like the smell of this product and I think with lip products that's so important. I'm just not a fan of these balmy sticks. I don't find them all that hydrating and the colour selections trend to be really weird.

L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss.
This is very much the same as the Revlon stick, it's not that hydrating and the colour selection is again really weird.

Benefit The Big Easy BB Cream.
For a while last summer I loved this product but it really doesn't work for me when I haven't been on holiday (is that a good enough reason to go on more holidays??). So I do like this product but only really in the summer, partly due to the lack of coverage it gives and the colour I own.

Make Up Revolution I Tint My Brows.
I don't dislike this product I just find it a bit of hard work. It's one of them brow products with a wand but the problem is the wand is a bit too big/ thick. I sometimes use it to set my brows but I don't think the colour completely matches my brows either.

Benefit Dallas Blush.
I quite like this as a blush/ bronzer mixture but I think it breaks me out. I started using it a while ago and noticed some spots on my cheeks not long after. So I have since been very cautious about using it. I have some other Benefit blushes that my skin is fine though so it is a bit weird.

What products do you guys not reach for in your make up collection?

Make Up Rev Lip Lacquers

Lip lacquers seem to be the 'it' product of the moment. Every brand is making their own version so I thought it was about it I gave some a try.

These are Make Up Revolution Salvation Velvet Lacquers.
I decided to only pick up three because if I don't like them I haven't lost much.

Here are swatches of the three lip lacquers:

Awesome eyeshadows?

I hauled this product back in December & have had quite a few questions about it.
So to me that calls for a review video!

This is the Make Up Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow Collection.

So this is an eye shadow palette combining neutral and colourful eye shadows.
There are 100 eye shadows in the palette & the palette costs only £12!

The colour variety in this palette is great. They also vary in finish which is good.
Although this does result in a differ in pigmentation. The matte shadows aren't as pigmented as the others. I think this is generally the case with more cheap eye shadows though.

Below are some swatches of a few shades out of the palette. You can see the differ in pigmentation here. I would also like to note these swatches aren't from just one swipe, more like three/ four.

Day Diary: Tuesday 7th April 2015

Seeing as it has been Easter weekend I have been very busy working.
So I wanted to have a nice chilled day with my boyfriend Reece. In essence a 'date day'.

So we firstly when shopping in Birmingham at the Bullring.
I had a few things I needed/ wanted to get, so it was more shopping for me really.

I firstly decided to have a look in the new River Island flagship store, which they've done an amazing job with! I would also like to mention they've got some amazing bikinis in their summer Pacha collection. I will definitely be picking some up soon!
I needed some things from Topshop, i.e. leggings & jeans. Topshop is my favourite for both of these items. I also popped into Victoria's Secret.
Below is a photo of some of the stuff I got.

I also decided to splurge & get myself an iPhone 6 due to the amount of problems I've been having with my 5S.

I also came home to find two parcels had arrived, one from Superdrug & one from Teapigs.
I have been having some problems with my tea so they had sent me some replacement tea.

My Superdrug order consisted of all the beauty items in the photo above.
How cute are the Real Techniques make up brushes! They are amazingly soft too!

Then after seeing to my horse, me & Reece decided to go out for dinner & then to the cinema.
Here is my outfit for the evening:

We went to TGI Friday's, which has to be one of my favourite restaurants. I love the cocktails there and the food is amazing. We both really enjoyed our meals, we both had burgers (so fancy.. not, haha).
Then we went to the cinema to see the new Fast & Furious film, number 7.
It was a great film. Definitely worth seeing!
I did cry at the end though, it was the perfect send off for Paul Walker (RIP).

Overall it was a lovely day/ evening.
