Jelly Pong Pong

Liquid highlighter/ illuminators are kinda scary, haha.
There is definitely a way to use them & make them work, which I will admit I'm still working on!
There are some that are quite easy to use, like Benefit's High Beam. However usually I stay away from drugstore branded ones.

I did receive this one in a Glossybox some time ago & have only just got round to testing it out.
The company that make this product are called Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics, which I believe is a European brand.

This product is actually described as an 'All Over Glow' luminizer gel.

Now this product isn't something I am drawn to, as I don't usually like all over illuminators. I have combo/ oily skin so I find they tend to make me look a bit more oily than glowing. Another thing that makes them a bit awkward to use is that a lot of illuminators are too golden in tone for my pale face!

This illuminator is actually quite pink in tone, which works better for me. I'll agree I still haven't tested this all over my face, I just can't do it (haha, sorry). I have however tested it on the high points of my face when highlighting.
I actually really like using liquid highlighters like this as it makes your highlighter pop even more.

So although this is described as a gel I would still say it's more liquid than gel. It does come out quite thin and a little goes a very long way. This does make me think it's better suited for an all over glow, because otherwise there is going to be a lot of waste product with this.

Also in the swatch above it looks quite sheer, but that is really down to how much you use, as it very build able (if you want that from a liquid highlighter??).

I actually quite like this for highlighting as it a very smooth and don't have any chunks of glitter in it! In fact in natural light it almost looks like a foil effect it's that smooth & highlighting.

I would actually go as far as to say it's a dupe for Benefit's High Beam. At just under £10 direct from their website it is definitely better value for money!

Some other plus points are that it is oil free, which makes it better as base make up & it is also cruelty free!

Thirsty Mud

11:11:00 Unknown 0 Comments

Up until now I have only ever tried one of GlamGlow's face masks, however I have been dying to try some of the others for ages! When I was in Rome I picked up some sample sizes to try.

I am planning on reviewing the other ones as well in the future, but this is the only one I've tried so far.

The one I have tried so far is the Thirsty Mud hydrating treatment.
Firstly, can we talk about this packaging??
GlamGlow packaging is always amazing and these sample sizes are no different. Sounds silly, but I love that the sample packaging is actually the same as the full size!

So onto the mask, this mask is a hydrating face mask for those times when your skin is feeling a little dry & in need of moisture. So I imagine if you have dry skin in general this product would be perfect for you!
I only tend to get dry areas on my face, so for me this is probably best used as part of a multi-masking routine (using more than one mask, different masks for different problem areas).

As I don't really suffer with dry skin too much I thought this product was going to be a little wasted on me, however I would have to say I was wrong!
The first time I used this mask was after I got back from Rome. The climate was so hot out there that it had dried my skin out quite a lot, so this had to be really moisturising to make a difference. I'm happy to report that I only needed to use this once, to restore my skin to normal!

So I am very impressed with this mask & I think if you're going away it's definitely worth trying.
It would be perfect for long haul flights, holidays & season changes (which we are undergoing right now).

I think in the winter months this mask is really going to come into it's own for me, because crazy British weather = dry skin!

Instagram Look Back #2

14:07:00 Unknown 0 Comments

As you can tell from the title, this isn't my first blog post from this series!
However it has been at least a YEAR since my first one. Seriously where does time go?!

So here is the second part of my Instagram Look Back series.

If you don't already follow me on Instagram you can by clicking here!

So lets begin.
We're going to start with the top left image, which is a photo of my nails. Now you're probably just thinking 'yeah they're nails & what'. This is the way I had my nails done for my brother's wedding! So they do have some significance really. I am very lucky & have really nice natural nails, so I just had a gel polish put on. I did love to way they looked though!

This second photo is from the day we picked Ed up! He was just gone 8 weeks old when we got him. Look how small & weird he looks! He has grown up so much & has proper pug features now. He looked a like an alien back then (haha, bless him).

This top right image is of a shit ton of Candy Kitten sweets & no, I haven't selected this images because I love sweets! Haha!
It's actually because I have recently been selected to be one of their brand ambassadors, as part of their #sweetsquad. However they are amazing gluten free sweets. Wild Strawberry is my favourite flavour ;)

This fourth photo is one of my favourite photos EVER!
It's a photograph of me & Liam at the Colosseum in Rome. We'd been together only a few months when we went on this trip & it was perfect. I had the best time, with the best company.

This image is just of some lip products, however I chose this one because it really represents the reason I started this blog in the first place, my love of beauty products etc. I love all of these lip products & how this image came out in the end.

This last photo is from when I went to Scotland earlier in the year. I went to go stay with my friends up there. Firstly, I always love seeing my Scottish friends they're lovely, but we also did some really awesome things whilst I was there. We spent a day in Edinburgh, which is where this photo is from. It's actually from the illusion museum.

I love doing this series, because it's a great little memory recap for me.
Hopefully we can make these a more regular thing, maybe every 6 months?!

Bridesmaid Make Up Look

15:47:00 Unknown 0 Comments

I recently had the pleasure of being a bridesmaid for my brother's wedding.
So I thought it would be good to share my make up look with you guys.

Below is a photo of my make up on the day. I went with a warm neutral eye look & a mauve nude lip colour.

The hairstyle for the day was an updo, so I wanted to focus a little bit more on contouring & highlighting to slim my face.

I would advise having a few practice runs before the day if you're doing your own make up. I did mine a few times, one being two days before. I would also advise using products you know work for you & wear well.

It is also one of those days where I would do some extra steps in my make up routine. Some of these things are concealing round my eyebrows & lips to tidy them up. I also used a setting spray before application as well as after.

Check out the tutorial here:
