What Owning a Horse Really Means!

People think that owning a horse is really glamorous.
I will be honest with you now... IT'S NOT!

Horse riding & owning a horse takes a lot of time, effort & commitment. It's definitely not a lifestyle choice for everyone.

  • You will have to get up early, whether it's for shows or just to turn & muck out.
  • You will have to go out in public smelling terrible & people will notice.
  • You will get injury at some point, it's usually an accident though.
  • You will be that weird kid at school that 'too into horses'.

  • You will find yourself living in jodhpurs (yes that is the correct spelling non-horsey folk) because they're too much effort to get off.
  • You will spend half of your life failing to organise anything with friends as you have to see your horse.
  • You will permanently to some degree carry horse hairs with you, without even knowing. Same applied with hay & straw.

However, it's all worth it. Every single thing. The unspoken bond between horse & rider is something very special/ unique!

Love Eve xx
