Polaroid Perfect Photos

As a photographer I have always loved the classic polaroid photo, however with the release of the Fujifilm Instax Polaroid Cameras there has been a new wave of love for this stylishly vintage images.

So for those of you that are confused (although I doubt that's many) polaroids are an old-fashioned way of taking photos. Polaroid cameras differed from other cameras though, as they instantly print the photo from the camera!
The image takes a few minutes to develop & voila! You have your printed photo in your hand!

As with a lot of vintage things, these polaroid images are currently having a revival! So of course the camera manufacturers are going to jump on this, Fujifilm to be exact!
They offer a variety of different polaroid cameras in their 'Instax' range, varying in size & colour.

So I had to get one to try for myself!

So onto my thoughts.

I like the design although it is very different to the classic polaroid camera. The choice of colours is a really fun element too, and opens them up to the public more (so not just a photographer's camera).
The one I picked up was the Black Instax Mini.
You can opt to buy them primarily with or without the cartridges, but it makes the most sense to buy them with really.
The Instax Mini retails for £64.00 & the original £60, so these are ridiculously affordable for a camera!
(Tip: Christmas is coming, these make a great gift!)

So onto the photos it takes. Now if you do take a lot of photos don't ever expect the same quality or colour from a polaroid than your DSLR or iPhone! But once you're used to the camera you can get better images out of it by utilising the settings better. To explain a little more the camera has different light settings, which it should automatically choose depending on the light source. However you can also choose it yourself, which I prefer to do.

Overall I think they're a great gift idea & a bit of creative fun, however for the professional they're definitely not going to make it into the essential kit list.

Love Eve xx
